Safe Day 2022

Building a safety culture for World SST Day

World Day for Safety and Health at Work.

This day is essential: it reminds us of the many workers injured or killed on the job, and raises awareness of the importance of preventing occupational accidents and illnesses, all over the world. While ensuring occupational health and safety within an organization is first and foremost a matter of regulations and applicable standards, a field with which we at Novallia are well acquainted, today we would like to emphasize a fundamental aspect of prevention: the establishment of an OHS culture. Indeed, while the regulatory framework makes it possible to structure an OHS strategy, make decisions and establish processes aimed at protecting employees, it is just as crucial to ensure that these decisions and processes are properly communicated, and that the entire organization is aware of them.

shares a common vision of health and safety in the workplace.

Transforming forms of work

The health crisis and the widespread introduction of telecommuting have transformed certain forms of work, prompting organizations to rethink OHS management and devise new ways of working. get employees on board the resources deployed for prevention in the workplace. In addition, we note that an OHS policy cannot be implemented without ensuring that the organization has put in place a healthy and constructive social dialogue. World OHS Day reminds us that occupational health and safety is more than just words, more than communication about the company’s image, more than simply ensuring compliance, more than simply issuing directives…

  • ➡️ It’s a participative approach, which makes a point of encouraging exchanges between management and employees, from top to bottom as well as from bottom to top, and management’s understanding of the real activity of its employees.
  • ➡️ It’s an approach that concerns the whole organization, not just the HSE, prevention or management teams.
    • This concerns Human Resources managers, who need to understand what training and awareness-raising to offer employees.
    • This concerns internal communication managers, who must provide employees with the right information.
    • This concerns managers, who are responsible for instilling a culture of health and safety in their teams.
    • This applies to employee representatives, who need to understand the meaning of decisions and explain the difficulties involved in applying them.
    • And among so many other players, this concerns most of all employees, who are the first to take responsibility for their own health and safety at work, and also the first to be exposed.

Safety in the workplace is everyone’s business. The best way to avoid risks and protect employee health is to ensure that everyone is involved in safety! Our philosophy!

At Novallia, sst is a real philosophy. We don’t just offer ready-made systems that can be applied anywhere, we look at the company as a whole, and try to meet its needs with concrete, tailor-made proposals. This involves a lot of listening and analysis! In particular, to help companies establish a safety culture, we offer

  • first, analyze the organization’s OHS maturity level
  • then we look at the presence of psychosocial difficulties that may hinder the OHS strategy
  • we observe and conduct interviews with various company players
  • Finally, we draw up a report with concrete proposals for a global and organizational OHS strategy.

And we don’t stop at a report of recommendations; we also support operational actions:

  • we train teams in OHS management
  • we make employees aware of the importance of implementing a prevention policy

We monitor our activities, and provide organizations with the keys to making the company an efficient, serene workplace that promotes the conditions and quality of life at work.
